Naremis vs. TickTick

A simpler TickTick alternative for daily tasks.

Naremis is a free browser alternative to TickTick when you want a daily to-do list without habit tracking, focus timers, or AI tools. Local tasks need no account and work offline after the first successful online load.

Naremis Vintage Paper daily to-do list showing active, completed, and cancelled tasks
The real Naremis browser app: one dated page, plain-text tasks, and your own order.

Keep the next action visible. Leave the productivity routine optional.

Suppose you sit down to study. Your immediate list is to read a chapter, solve five problems, and email a question. In Naremis, those are three plain-text tasks. You can reorder them, check off the finished work, and leave the remaining action ready for the next day.

There is no focus session to start or streak to preserve. That can suit you when tracking the process takes attention away from doing it. If a Pomodoro timer, habit log, or calendar plan helps you follow through, TickTick offers those tools in one place. Simplicity is useful only if the smaller workflow fits your needs.

Naremis vs. TickTick: what is included?

The crosses in Naremis’s column are deliberate product choices. Read the conditions alongside each check; an integration or paid feature is not the same as a built-in free feature.

This Device: local-only tasks

No signup. Task text stays in the browser’s local database. After an initial online load and caching, the notebook works offline in that browser. Keep the same browser profile to find your list.

Sync: an optional cloud copy

Google sign-in enables Naremis Sync and imports your local notebook. Task data is stored in Naremis’s synchronized service. Sync needs a connection and is not end-to-end encrypted.

Know what local-only means

Clearing site data or losing the device can permanently remove local-only tasks. Local storage is not a backup or a promise of protection from someone with access to your device.

Naremis has no AI processing of task text. Optional usage analytics require consent and exclude task content. Read the privacy policy, analytics policy, and offline storage explanation.

Try a day alongside TickTick

Write today’s actions as a short list. Keep your TickTick habit schedules, focus records, and reminder rules where they are; those are not imported into Naremis.

  1. Open Naremis in your browser and write a few tasks for today.
  2. Paste multiple lines into an empty task to create separate tasks. Or start with these sample daily lists.
  3. Check off finished work and return tomorrow to see what rolls forward.

There is no direct TickTick import. Pasting plain text does not transfer dates, history, attachments, or feature settings. Native Naremis desktop and mobile downloads are not released; use the browser app.

Questions about switching from TickTick

Does Naremis have a Pomodoro timer or habit tracker?

No. The daily list is the focus. You can use a separate timer if it helps, while Naremis keeps the tasks and their dated outcomes.

Does rollover replace TickTick’s recurring reminders?

No. An unfinished task continues forward in Naremis. Once you complete it, it will not appear again unless you create a new task. Use a recurring reminder tool for obligations that must repeat.
